Cabin Updates: Estes Park & Red Feather Lakes

Many of you know that a big part of my business—and honestly, one of my favorite passion projects—is cabins.

Whether it’s helping someone find a dream getaway for their family, identifying a strong short-term rental investment, or finding that perfect hybrid of personal use and income potential, there’s just something special about the cabin lifestyle.

Over the past couple of weeks, I spent time in two of my favorite Northern Colorado spots: Estes Park and Red Feather Lakes.

In Estes Park, I toured several cabins along the Big Thompson Canyon corridor between Loveland and Estes. This stretch offers a unique mix of accessibility and mountain escape. If you’re looking for a long-term rental opportunity (30+ days) or a family retreat just outside of town, I may have found a standout option worth taking a closer look at.

I also spent the weekend at an AirBnb exploring a property just outside of downtown Estes, near the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park—and this one checked all the boxes. Riverfront setting, hot tub, firepit, space to unwind… the kind of place that creates memorable weekends and repeat visits. Definitely one I’ll be keeping an eye on.

Then there’s Red Feather Lakes.

If your ideal escape leans more toward quiet, remote, and surrounded by pure nature—this is your spot. Think more land, more privacy, and a slower pace. I toured a few cabins and some buildable land, each offering something a little different depending on what you’re looking for.

That’s really what I enjoy most about this niche—no two properties, or buyers, are the same. It’s about matching lifestyle, goals, and opportunity.

If you’ve ever thought about owning a cabin—or just want to better understand the lifestyle, investment potential, or different mountain areas—I’m always happy to connect.

Lyons, Estes Park, Drake, and Red Feather Lakes are some of my favorite areas, but I’ll never pass up a chance to spend a day exploring the mountains.

Until we connect—
