Johnstown Family

Dear Future Johnstown Resident,

So, my daughter read my website Blogs the other day and boy did I hear it… the mockery and condescension! 🙄 She was not a fan of The Lyons King! I thought it was clever and that’s all that matters Brook! b (When you’re old enough to have a forum, you can counter, until then, point-dad! )

The joy of parenting a preteen and teen… bringing us full-circle to Johnstown and the joy of raising, schooling and parenting in Johnstown, Colorado. After spending 11 years as a stay-at-home dad to my little ones, I had a pleasure of doing all the things that small-town Johnstown had to offer. Being a small town, there was not a plethora, but definitely enough to keep us active, busy and we are central and close enough to commute to Loveland, Ft. Collins, Longmont, Greeley and even Denver is just 45 minutes away.

The highlights of raising a family in Johnstown were #1, the schools: from the kindergartens (Cornerstone & JUMP) to Pioneer Ridge Elementary, to currently (the new) Roosevelt Middle School and next year my son is off to (the brand new) Roosevelt High School, of which we have only heard great things! My kids have been given a wonderful start to their lives and educational careers, for which we are grateful. Along those lines, we also spent an enormous amount of time at our local libraries, especially Glenn A. Jones Memorial Library downtown. The library, activities and staff are absolutely wonderful. We hit every park, dozens and dozens of times and in the most recent years the new edition of the YMCA!

Great place, great places within our little hometown of Johnstown.
