In the last 12 years, I have personally been involved in my children’s (Benjamin & Brooklynn) educational growth and would give great reviews for the following schools:
Cornerstone Pre School (2 kids, 3 years total)
Johnstown United Methodist Pre School (JUMP); (1 kid, 1 year)
Pioneer Ridge Elementary (PRE); (2 kids, 12 years)
Milliken Middle School (MMS); (2 kids, aggregate of 3 years)
Roosevelt Middle School (RMS); (2 kids, aggregate of 1 year: due to Opening Jan. ’25)
… and next year my son will be a freshman at Roosevelt High School (RHS); (Opened in 2023/2024) and my daughter will follow in 2027
All of the schools have been great, the teachers are by-and-large wonderful and the education offered to my children has been exceptional.
Areas that my kids have experienced in which I can expound and give great reviews: Both of the Pre Schools were fantastic. They both had really good & caring teachers to foster their growth and assimilation into their educational futures! Pioneer Ridge Elementary was our home base for nearly a decade with my kids being 2 years apart. The PRE kindergarten teachers (Shout-out to Mrs. Herman!); most all of the teachers were great; the Gifted & Talented Program (it begins in 3rd grade), Art & all of the “Specials” (new-age Electives…). The elementary schools are on a 1-4 point grading system and it transitions to letter grades at Middle School.
The new and improved Roosevelt Middle School (formerly the high school) was vastly renovated and opened in January, 2025. So far my kids have loved it and all the additional offerings that the new school allows for.
As for Roosevelt High School, we have had a number of visits for choir concerts and the school Open House we attended with our son recently. It is state-of-the-art and I would venture to say that it offers more of a variety in educational opportunities than my college (University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, circa 1990’s…)
Bottom line, the schools in Johnstown, Colorado have a lot to offer! As for the other Johnstown Elementary, Elwell: it opened this last year and I have heard good things.
That is a little bit of what I know of the Johnstown schools. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Until then, happy learning!
All the best,
Bryan
